This role ensures all common areas, restrooms, break rooms, and workspaces are properly cleaned and maintained, while also assisting with the routine cleaning of production machinery and surrounding areas, including the removal of cotton, fiber, and other material buildup. This position supports daily operations, workplace safety, and overall cleanliness throughout the facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our facilities through comprehensive cleaning, custodial tasks, and basic maintenance activities. Your proactive approach will ensure a safe, sanitary, and well-maintained space that supports our team's productivity and enhances the experience of everyone who enters. Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting to uphold high sanitation standards. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and scrubbers to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition. Clean around production machinery and equipment and remove accumulated cotton, fiber, lint, and other material buildup. Perform routine exterior and interior facility cleaning to maintain a safe and organized work environment. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence. Conduct light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (including residential painting), and inspecting facilities for safety hazards. Utilize custodial experience to perform deep cleaning projects in commercial or industrial settings, ensuring all areas meet cleanliness standards. Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies and equipment while practicing safe lifting practices at all times. Support facilities maintenance activities by identifying issues early and coordinating with specialized technicians when necessary. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to cleaning requests or facility concerns from staff or visitors. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential environments. Familiarity with cleaning techniques and equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling techniques. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a safe environment through adherence to safety protocols. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and visitors. Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, push, or pull cleaning equipment and supplies as required. Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment.
