401(k) 401(k) matching Competitive salary Paid time off We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Industrial & Office Custodian to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall sanitization of our manufacturing facility. This role splits time between two distinct environments: executing heavy-duty cleaning protocols on the warehouse/production floor, and maintaining a pristine, professional appearance in the corporate offices, breakrooms, and common areas. The ideal candidate works well independently, understands basic industrial safety, and takes pride in creating a clean environment for both our floor staff and executive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Production Floor Areas:
Perform heavy-duty floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and safely operating industrial floor scrubbers or walk-behind buffers. Empty large industrial trash receptacles and tilt-trucks, safely hauling waste to outdoor dumpsters or compactors. Collect and break down bulk cardboard, operating a cardboard baler where applicable. Promptly clean up non-hazardous liquid spills, dust accumulation, and debris near machinery walkways to ensure a trip-free environment. Adhere strictly to plant safety guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) zones and high-visibility PPE requirements.
Corporate Office & Common Areas:
Dust, wipe down, and sanitize office desks, conference room tables, countertops, and high-touch surfaces. Vacuum carpeted office spaces and sweep/mop tile entryways. Clean interior windows, glass partitions, and mirrors. Deep-clean and sanitize all facility restrooms daily; restock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers. Maintain the employee breakrooms/cafeteria by wiping down appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, coffee pot), cleaning sinks, and sanitizing dining tables.
Inventory & General Upkeep:
Monitor levels of cleaning supplies and chemical stock; notify management when reordering is necessary. Ensure the janitorial closets are kept organized, labeled, and compliant with safety codes. Report any structural maintenance issues, broken lighting, or plumbing leaks to the Facility Manager immediately.
Qualifications:
1+ years of commercial cleaning or industrial janitorial experience is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Familiarity with the safe handling of commercial cleaning chemicals (OSHA Hazard Communication standards) is highly preferred. Experience operating motorized floor scrubbers/sweepers. Ability to read and understand chemical safety labels (SDS sheets), warning signs, and daily written checklists. Strong attention to detail, discipline, and safety awareness Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
