PlasTechs is hiring a hands-on Maintenance Technician who can independently diagnose equipment problems, complete repairs, and keep our injection molding operation running safely and reliably. Our facility operates Cincinnati injection molding machines ranging from 33 to 440 tons and uses an overhead crane for mold handling. You'll work closely with processing, tooling, and production personnel to resolve breakdowns, prevent recurring problems, and support our growth. What you'll do
  • Independently troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on injection molding machines.
  • Diagnose problems with pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, heaters, thermocouples, sensors, and related components.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and identify developing equipment problems before they cause breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain auxiliary equipment, including material handling, drying, temperature-control, and cooling equipment.
  • Read electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and equipment manuals to identify faults and plan repairs.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and expected downtime to production personnel.
  • Verify safe operation after repairs and coordinate equipment handoff with the processing or production team.
  • Document maintenance work, track recurring failures, and identify replacement parts needed.
  • Coordinate with outside service providers when specialized repairs or inspections are required.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and maintain machine guarding, interlocks, and other safety systems. Required experience and skills
  • At least 3+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience, or equivalent demonstrated hands-on ability.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting injection molding equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and complete routine repairs independently, without step-by-step supervision .
  • Practical knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read schematics and safely use appropriate diagnostic instruments.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and maintaining accurate service records.
  • Ability to recognize when a repair requires specialized support and communicate that need.
  • Strong safety practices, attention to detail, and clear communication.
Preferred:
Experience with Cincinnati injection molding machines, molding auxiliary equipment, and PLC input/output diagnostics. Schedule
    Monday-Thursday:
    four 10-hour days.
    • First-shift start and end times are assigned within our 6:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. operating window .
    • Regular Friday-Sunday time off.
    • No overtime is currently required. Additional hours or workdays may be required as production needs grow.
    • Full-time, on-site in Saline, Michigan. Pay and benefits
