What You'll Do as an Entry-Level Garage Door Installer Install and assemble garage doors, overhead doors, and openers according to job specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards. Prepare for each job by making sure the products and parts you need are accounted for and loaded before leaving the shop. Measure installation sites accurately to help ensure doors fit properly and operate as intended. Inspect completed installations, lubricate moving parts, adjust springs, tighten hardware, and confirm proper operation. Remove existing doors when needed and safely operate the hand tools, power tools, and equipment required for installation work. Assist with unloading deliveries and other warehouse activities as needed. Serve customers professionally by answering questions and addressing concerns while working at their homes or businesses. Complete job orders, installation reports, service tickets, and other required paperwork accurately and promptly.
