The Town of Round Hill is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team. What You'll Do - This position performs a variety of public works, grounds, facility, and utility maintenance duties, including: Mowing, trimming, landscaping, and maintaining Town parks, grounds, and public spaces Maintaining and repairing Town buildings, facilities, playgrounds, signs, and other public property Assisting with water and sewer system maintenance and repairs Operating lawn mowers, tractors, dump trucks, snow plows, hand and power tools, and other equipment Performing basic carpentry, painting, mechanical, HVAC, and other general maintenance work Assisting with construction and repair projects, including digging, trenching, pipe repairs, and related work Performing snow and ice removal, storm cleanup, and other seasonal work Helping set up Town events and seasonal/holiday decorations Inspecting and maintaining Town vehicles, tools, and equipment Responding to maintenance requests and occasional emergency situations Working independently and as part of a crew on a variety of projects throughout Town What We're Looking For High school diploma or G.E.D. Valid driver's license and safe driving record Basic mechanical ability and willingness to learn Ability to safely use hand and power tools Ability or willingness to learn to operate grounds-maintenance and larger equipment Basic computer skills and ability to complete simple work records Dependable, willing to work outdoors, and comfortable performing physical work Ability to work well with coworkers and interact courteously with the public Willingness to work occasional overtime, emergencies, and weather-related operations when needed Preferred, But Not Required Experience with mowing, landscaping, construction, building maintenance, utilities, or a skilled trade Experience operating construction or heavy equipment Knowledge of water distribution or sewage collection systems Experience reading basic construction plans Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Physical & Work Requirements - This is an active, hands-on position that involves working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Work may include standing, walking, bending, climbing, digging, operating equipment, and lifting or moving materials. The position may occasionally require lifting up to 75 pounds. Salary & Benefits for Full Time Employees- Starting salary will be $45,000 to $55,000 depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Total compensation package includes the Virginia Retirement System participation, paid vacation and sick leave, medical and dental insurance, approved professional membership dues and approved continuing education expenses. The Town of Round Hill follows Loudoun County Government Holiday Schedule (14 holidays per year).
