Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignment checks, shocks & struts replacement, and equipment inspections. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Ensure all repairs meet safety standards such as air brake inspections and vehicle system integrity checks. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document repairs accurately for accountability and future reference. Qualifications Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or diesel fleet mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and automotive electrical systems. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting vehicle systems effectively. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and power tools; welding skills are a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery or vehicles. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients alike.
