Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Mechanic to oversee and execute maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of a diverse fleet of heavy and light-duty equipment. This dynamic role requires a proactive person who can manage multiple heavy or light repairs everyday, ensure safety standards are met, and deliver exceptional service across various machinery types including aerial lifts and other specialty equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for maintaining equipment performance at peak levels. Responsibilities Perform complex repairs and troubleshooting on aerial lift equipment such as booms, telehandlers and scissors as well as forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Conduct detailed inspections using schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues related to transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems. Oversee the fabrication and assembly of parts or components as needed to support equipment repairs or modifications. Utilize power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and hand tools to execute repairs efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and repair histories for all machinery. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations related to vehicle maintenance and heavy equipment operation. Experience Proven experience working as a mechanic in heavy equipment repair shops. Preffered-Extensive background in heavy truck repair, diesel engine diagnostics, automotive electrical systems repair, and vehicle systems troubleshooting. Demonstrated ability to read schematics accurately for complex mechanical systems including hydraulics, transmissions, suspensions, shocks & struts. Skilled in welding, fabrication techniques, tire service, alignment procedures, and general equipment maintenance. Knowledge of diagnostics tools and electrical testing devices is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to support service technician functions when needed. Demonstrated ability to train and coach less experienced mechanics.
