GENERAL SUMMARY

Oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. This includes the repair of broken or failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in trucks, automobiles, sweepers, tractors, rollers, mowers and other mechanical equipment used in utility work 2. Disassembles motors and performs general overhauling, repairs transmissions, differentials, carburetors, distributors, fuel pumps, universal joints, hydraulic systems and high pressure pumps and valves 3. Installs and adjusts brakes, installs batteries, tires, wiring and glass 4. Requires some machine or welding work in making fittings used in automotive equipment; occasionally makes emergency repairs out of shop 5. Maintains a preventive maintenance program on all equipment 6. Purchases repair parts and replacement supplies 7. Spot checks equipment for performance in the field 8. Services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to operations use and is responsible for shop maintenance 9. Adjusts and prepares cutting mechanisms of a wide variety of heavy and light mowing equipment 10. Performs other duties as assigned by manager The duties and responsibilities of this position are not limited to this description and the Golf Course Mechanic may perform a combination of other functions when needed.
