Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Diagnose electrical problems using tools such as ohmmeters and perform electrical diagnostics to identify faults within HVAC systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to ensure precise system installation and repairs. Troubleshoot mechanical issues with HVAC equipment and mechanical systems repair techniques to restore optimal operation. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to enhance efficiency and extend equipment lifespan. Collaborate with clients to explain system operations, provide maintenance recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to carry out repairs efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Requirements Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in a similar construction or mechanical field role. Strong knowledge of HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance procedures. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and building automation controls. Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration cycles, electrical components, boilers, and mechanical systems effectively. Hands-on experience with hand tools, electrical diagnostics devices (such as ohmmeters), and equipment troubleshooting techniques. Mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with clients. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC/R or electrical diagnostics are preferred. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments while maintaining safety protocols.
