To perform routine and specialized maintenance tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and guest-ready operation of all hotel/resort systems, equipment, and physical property. This position requires flexibility and a guest-first mindset. Associates are encouraged to support other departments and provide friendly, responsive service beyond their primary job functions.
Essential Functions:
Perform day-to-day general maintenance and repair tasks in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and grounds. Troubleshoot and assist with repairs to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems. Conduct preventive maintenance in accordance with property PM schedule. Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests via the work order system (Quore); prioritize urgent guest-facing tasks. Assist in monitoring and maintaining building systems including boilers, HVAC units, lighting, fire alarms, and life safety systems. Perform light carpentry, painting, drywall repair, tiling, grouting, caulking, and fixture replacements. Assist in exterior upkeep and seasonal grounds maintenance such as snow removal, salting walkways, or landscaping support. Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering workspaces, tools, storage rooms, and mechanical areas. Work safely and comply with all OSHA regulations, property safety policies, and standard operating procedures. Assist with set-up and breakdown of events when needed. Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained per manufacturer's guidelines. Communicate effectively with the Engineering Manager and Front Office team about work progress, safety issues, or escalations.
Job Requirements:
1-3 years of hands-on maintenance experience preferred (hotel, resort, or facilities setting a plus) Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments Familiarity with reading blueprints, manuals, or schematics a plus High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred Valid driver's license and ability to operate utility vehicles or maintenance carts
Hotel-Specific Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or walk for up to 10 hours per shift Must be able to lift, push, or carry up to 80 lbs regularly Frequent bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing stairs/ladders Work in hot, cold, noisy, or outdoor environments as needed Must be able to respond quickly and safely to emergencies
