Job Description

Maintenance Worker I, Village of Cedar Bluffs, Full-Time Position Type Full-Time Hours 40 hours per week; occasional weekends and evenings as needed Job Summary The Full-Time Maintenance Worker assists with the upkeep, operation, and appearance of municipal facilities and grounds. This position is responsible for duties including mowing, splash pad monitoring, basic equipment maintenance, snow removal, and assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with a variety of maintenance and seasonal tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and able to perform physical work in a variety of weather conditions. Work Schedule This is a full-time position typically scheduled for 40 hours per week. Hours may vary based on seasonal needs, weather conditions, and department priorities. Occasionally early morning, evening, or weekend work may be required for snow removal, special assignments, or other operational needs. Benefits

  • Perform mowing, trimming, edging, and general ground maintenance.
  • Monitor splash pad operations to help ensure safe, clean, and proper functioning of the area.
  • Inspect splash pad equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs of tools, equipment, and facilities.
  • Help maintain and clean maintenance equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
  • Perform snow removal duties, including shoveling, salting, and operating snow removal equipment as assigned.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with daily work assignments, special projects, and seasonal maintenance activities.
  • Identify and report needed repairs, unsafe conditions, or damaged equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures and proper operation of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Grade IV Water Operator, Waster Water Operator, Pool Operator, Pesticide Applicator License preferred and will be required if hired.
  • Previous experience in ground maintenance, building maintenance, parks maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to operate mowing equipment, hand tools, and other maintenance equipment, meeting all safety requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair practices.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
  • Must be able to obtain a water operator license in the state of Nebraska within one year.
  • Must be able to obtain a wastewater operator license in the state of Nebraska within two years.
  • Must be able to obtain a spray applicators license in the state of Nebraska with ornamental and turf pest control endorsement within one year.
  • Must be able to obtain pool operator certification in Saunders County within one year.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions, including heat, cold, and snow.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.

Pay:
