Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities maintenance and be proficient in various technical skills. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment. Duties Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they arise. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for equipment diagnostics and repairs. Conduct welding tasks as needed for repairs or modifications. Read and interpret schematics to assist in troubleshooting and repairs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Assist with residential painting projects to maintain aesthetic standards. Provide leadership and supervision to junior maintenance staff when required. Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management. Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance processes and efficiency. Requirements Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems. Electrical experience is highly desirable, including familiarity with ohmmeters. Ability to read and understand schematics related to electrical systems and machinery. Previous experience in manufacturing environments is a plus. Supervising experience preferred for leadership roles within the team. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail.
