Prime Materials Recovery, Inc ., is currently seeking a dedicated results driven Maintenance Manager in our South Windsor, CT location. PMR is one of the largest non-ferrous metal merchants, polymer, and processors in the United States. Headquartered in East Hartford, CT, PMR operates state of the art processing facilities in South Windsor, CT, Canastota, NY, and Orangeburg, SC.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance, repair, and reliability programs for the South Windsor Campus. This includes G & S Metal facility along with the Prime facility. This role ensures that equipment, machinery, and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company standards. The Maintenance Manager leads a team of mechanics, and technicians driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and support safe, continuous operations in a heavy industrial/recycling environment. Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to: Manage and develop the maintenance team, including mechanics, and electricians. Schedule, assign, and oversee daily maintenance work orders and projects. Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for maintenance staff. Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems. Defining parts that need to be ordered after troubleshooting is complete. Maintain inventories of tools, spare parts, and consumable supplies. Requisition tools, spare parts, and consumable supplies. Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance. Maintain repair or maintenance records. Ability to read and understand machine drawings, building prints, electrical and plumbing schematics. Develop preventative maintenance program for all equipment & facility related equipment. Perform equipment installations as required and defined by Engineering. Experience in welding, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, and working with process controls. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and facility. Operation of forklift and scissor lift as required.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
5+ years of maintenance management experience in manufacturing, recycling, or heavy industrial operations. Hands-on knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and environmental compliance standards. Budget management and vendor negotiation experience.
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
