Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented hotel chief engineer to oversee the maintenance operations of our hotel facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a comprehensive understanding of industrial and mechanical systems, and the ability to lead a team effectively. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our property, providing guests with a seamless experience. The position requires a proactive approach to facilities management, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance. Duties Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities across all hotel departments to ensure operational efficiency. Oversee preventive maintenance programs utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software. Manage repair and troubleshooting tasks related to HVAC systems, electrical wiring (including high voltage and low voltage), plumbing, and mechanical equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately. Lead projects involving facilities upgrades, renovations, or repairs, ensuring timely completion within budget. Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes. Supervise maintenance staff by assigning tasks, electrical systems (including high voltage), and safety procedures. Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols related to industrial maintenance and electrical work. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or installations as needed. Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies necessary for maintenance tasks. Guest Experience Understand and respond to customers' needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction . Carry out a preventive maintenance programme to ensure the hotel is maintained and in service for guests (example: lighting, refrigeration, heating, air-conditioning, water treatment systems, and pools) Requirements Proven management experience in facilities management or industrial maintenance within the hospitality or manufacturing sectors. Strong leadership skills with demonstrated supervising experience in a fast-paced environment. Mechanical knowledge with expertise in HVAC systems, electrical systems (including high voltage and low voltage), schematics interpretation, and industrial maintenance practices. Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and maintenance scheduling. Ability to read technical schematics and use tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting. Project management skills to oversee renovation or repair projects from inception to completion. Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination and reporting. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and quality assurance.
