About the Role We are seeking a Supervisor of Maintenance to lead the daily operations of our Part 145 repair station. This position is part of a planned, phased leadership transition. The initial focus will be strengthening the Part 145 maintenance operation by improving workflow, developing technicians, establishing consistent processes, and creating greater structure and accountability on the maintenance floor. As the candidate becomes established in the organization, the role is intended to gradually expand to include serving as the Director of Maintenance for our affiliated Part 135 charter operation. This will be a slow and deliberate transition, with significant training, support, and guidance from our owner, who currently serves as the Part 135 Director of Maintenance. The selected candidate will have time to learn our aircraft, operation, maintenance programs, and internal processes before assuming full responsibility for the role. This transition will ultimately create stronger coordination between the repair station and charter operation while supporting aircraft availability, regulatory compliance, maintenance planning, and continued company growth. The right candidate will be a strong mechanic by trade and a steady, organized leader who remains cool, calm, and collected in a fast-moving environment. This is not a sit-in-the-office-and-direct role. We want a leader who understands the realities of the maintenance floor, remains visible and engaged with the team, provides technical guidance when needed, and helps remove the obstacles that prevent technicians from succeeding. Key Responsibilities Part 145 Maintenance Leadership Lead the daily operations of the Part 145 maintenance department. Schedule and assign work based on technician capabilities, project priorities, client commitments, and available resources. Remain visible and engaged on the maintenance floor. Provide technical guidance and support with complex troubleshooting and repair decisions. Coach and develop technicians at varying levels of experience. Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for safety, quality, productivity, documentation, and communication. Improve scheduling, workflow, project tracking, communication, and department processes. Coordinate with avionics, parts, customer service, accounting, and company leadership. Monitor project timelines and proactively address delays, staffing limitations, parts issues, and other operational challenges. Ensure work orders, logbooks, inspection records, and return-to-service documentation are accurate and complete. Support clear and transparent client communication regarding project scope, cost, timelines, progress, and unexpected findings. Promote a safe, organized, professional, and accountable maintenance environment. Phased Part 135 Responsibilities Following a successful transition period, this role is intended to expand to include: Serving as Director of Maintenance for the affiliated Part 135 charter operation. Overseeing the Part 135 maintenance program and supporting continued regulatory compliance. Coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for company-operated aircraft. Working closely with operational leadership to support aircraft availability and reliability. Aligning Part 145 capacity with Part 135 maintenance priorities. Strengthening communication and planning between maintenance, flight operations, and company leadership. Maintaining the records, manuals, programs, and documentation associated with the Director of Maintenance role. Prepared to grow into broader leadership responsibility across both Part 145 and Part 135 operations. Required Qualifications Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate. Significant hands-on aircraft maintenance experience. Previous experience leading technicians or overseeing maintenance projects. Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance documentation, and airworthiness requirements. Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to use computerized work order and maintenance-tracking systems. Ability to satisfy all applicable qualification requirements before assuming the Part 135 Director of Maintenance position. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a Director of Maintenance, Supervisor of Maintenance, or Maintenance Supervisor. Current Inspection Authorization, preferred. Experience working within a Part 145 repair station. Experience supporting aircraft operated under Part 135. Familiarity with Part 145 and Part 135 maintenance requirements. Experience maintaining turboprop aircraft and light jets. Experience with Cessna Conquest, Citation, or similar aircraft platforms. Experience improving maintenance workflow, technician development, scheduling, and department processes. Schedule and Benefits This is primarily a Monday through Friday position. Occasional overtime, weekend work, or after-hours support may be required based on aircraft schedules and operational needs.
