Location:
Queens, NY Pay:
$20-$25/hr depending on experience
Schedule:
M-F 7am-4pm, Sat 7am-1pm
Employment Type:
Full Time Royal Waste Services, a Waste Connections Company, is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to support repairs and preventative maintenance on forklifts, small loaders, and other equipment used in our recycling facility. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technician with solid mechanical skills who can keep equipment safe, reliable, and operational in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair Perform preventative maintenance (lubrication, filters, adjustments, inspections).
Repair and maintain:
Forklifts Small payloaders Skid steers Other facility equipment Assist with basic hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting. Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime. Safety & Compliance Follow all company, OSHA, and equipment‑specific safety procedures. Perform proper lockout/tagout during repairs. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Documentation & Reporting Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately. Track parts usage and communication needs to the Maintenance Manager Report recurring issues or equipment concerns promptly Shop & Field Support Assist with equipment inspections and readiness checks. Support operations by ensuring equipment is available and functioning Coordinate with vendors for parts or specialized repairs when needed Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in equipment or facility maintenance (industrial, warehouse, or waste industry preferred).
