Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Overhead Crane Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead cranes and related lifting equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of heavy lifting systems across our facility, supporting continuous production and safety standards. Duties Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting systems to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics, electrical blueprints, and diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and precision measuring instruments. Conduct electrical diagnostics on systems including high voltage and low voltage circuits; utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting automation components. Use industrial mechanic skills to identify wear or damage; replace or repair components such as motors, brakes, gears, and control panels. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track equipment history and schedule future inspections. Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose complex equipment problems accurately. Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all maintenance activities; support safety audits and participate in safety training sessions. Qualifications Proven experience working in manufacturing facilities with overhead crane systems or similar heavy lifting equipment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills including experience with electrical systems, electrical blueprint reading, high voltage/low voltage circuits, and electrical maintenance. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial mechanics, welding (stick welding), and precision measurement tools. Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and record keeping. Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and engineering troubleshooting documents confidently. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical diagnostics tools (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter), and industrial electrician practices. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with analysis capabilities to quickly identify root causes of equipment issues. Strong communication skills in English; customer service orientation when interacting with field service teams or internal stakeholders.
