Job Description

Scenic Fruit Company, a family owned company for over 90 years is the oldest berry processor in the Northwest. We are currently seeking an energetic and hard-working individual to join our Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Technician will diagnose, monitor, repair, test, maintain and troubleshoot the plant's production equipment as well as perform preventative maintenance on the facility. The ideal candidate will be able to work a flexible & changing schedule, including long hours, nights & weekends. The harvest season (June through September) will require even greater flexibility. This position is expected to perform the below essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
Essential Functions:
Troubleshoot and maintain processing equipment Monitor machinery to minimize downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor in developing routine and preventative maintenance schedules Assist team leaders and machine operators in efficient line start up and equipment adjustments Independently perform basic service repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of food processing units including: Chain & belt tensions, conveyors, sprockets, gears, bearings, rollers, brackets, and other manufacturing system functions Replace faulty parts, electrical wires, motors, gear boxes, metal detectors, controls, circuit boards & other equipment as necessary Perform building maintenance and repairs as needed Maintain documentation related to maintenance tasks Weld and fabricate machinery when necessary Adhere to all company policies, GMPs, and SOPs Work safely and promote a safe work environment Must have open availability to work a flexible schedule when production requires including; ability to work entire shift, extended shift hours, weekends, holidays, and required overtime in accordance with Oregon State laws. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ideal candidate will have some college coursework or trade school and at least 2 years' experience in related field. Electrical Troubleshooting experience preferred Welding experience preferred Maintenance Mechanic experience on motors, conveyor belts and VFD's preferred All candidate must have reliable transportation (We are not located on a bus line) Ability to pass a drug screen & criminal background check.
