Cabinet Craftsman
Job Description
A Legacy Worth Being Part Of "For three generations, we have valued every detail." Over sixty years ago, a family in the Pacific Northwest started building custom cabinets by hand — treating every piece as if it were going into their own home. That philosophy didn't just survive the decades. It became us. DeWils Industries, Inc. is a third-generation, family-owned manufacturer based right here in Vancouver, WA, and we are still driven by that same unwavering promise: exceptional quality, uncompromising craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of getting it right. We combine the craftsmanship of yesterday with the technologies of today — building products designed to outlast generations. That means the people on our shop floor matter enormously to us. Every department. Every role. Every day. That person could be you. Build something that outlasts you No cabinet experience? No problem. DeWils is hiring an entry-level Cabinet Manufacturing Team Member who is coachable, eager, and ready to learn a real trade from people who are genuinely good at teaching it. We can teach the skills. What we can't teach is attitude, and that's what we're hiring for. About the role This is an entry-level production position on our cabinet manufacturing team. You'll learn one part of the cabinet manufacturing process and build real skill in it, and no prior experience in cabinetry or manufacturing is required. You'll work side by side with experienced teammates who will show you the DeWils way and help you earn your footing. How far and how fast you grow from there is up to you. What you'll do Learn and perform the tasks in your part of the cabinet manufacturing process, starting with the fundamentals and taking on more as your skills grow Follow work orders, specs, and standard work to build cabinet components and finished product to DeWils quality standards Measure accurately and check your own work as you go Safely operate equipment and tools once you've been trained on them Move, stage, and handle materials and parts Keep your work area clean and organized as part of our 5S practices Learn alongside your crew as we grow together on our lean journey Communicate openly with your teammates and supervisor, and ask questions instead of guessing What we're looking for We hire for character and mindset first. The only technical skill you need on day one is reading a tape measure. Everything else, we'll teach you. Coachable. You take feedback well and put it to use. Growth-minded. You want to be better in six months than you are today and you'll do the work to get there. A team player. You show up for your crew, not just your own task list. Reliable. You do what you say you're going to do, and you're on time. Safety-minded. You take safety seriously for yourself and for everyone around you. Ready for hands-on work. You like staying busy and building things with your hands. Physical requirements and work environment This is hands-on shop work in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment, dust, and noise. Safety is a priority at DeWils, and you'll receive training and protective equipment for your work area. Stand, walk, bend, and reach for a full shift Lift and move materials up to 50lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation Work in a shop environment with machinery, noise, and dust Wear required personal protective equipment We run on Lean manufacturing principles — come ready to learn our way first, and grow into the bigger picture over time. A Learning Culture Built on Continuous Improvement At DeWils Industries, we operate on Lean manufacturing principles — focused on reducing waste, improving flow, and delivering the highest quality product as efficiently as possible. We'll be honest: we're still growing in our understanding of Lean's tools, and that journey is one we take seriously as a team. When you join us, the most important thing you can do is come ready to learn our way first. Every department has systems and standards developed over decades, and understanding them deeply is the foundation everything else is built on. We'll invest real time in teaching you how we do things and why. As you grow into your role and build a track record across departments, we absolutely want to hear what you're observing. Team members who understand our processes are the ones best positioned to help us get even better — when the time is right and the roots are down. Our Core Values — Live Them, Don't Just List Them These aren't words on a wall. They're how we make decisions, how we treat each other, and how we show up every single day. If these values resonate with you, you'll fit right in. Accountability. Own it. We own our work — the wins and the mistakes. When something isn't right, we face it, fix it, and learn from it. Integrity. Do the right thing. We do what we say and say what we mean. Honest with each other and with every customer who trusts us with their home. Teamwork. Better Together. Nobody builds a great cabinet alone. We show up for each other and understand that our collective success depends on every person doing their part. Respect. Give what you'd want. We treat every person — teammate, customer, or supplier — the way we want to be treated. Respect is the foundation this culture is built on. Quality. Built to Last. Quality isn't a department — it's a mindset. We hold ourselves to a standard that would make the original DeWils family proud. Compensation & Benefits We believe that taking care of our team is just as important as taking care of our product. Here's what you can expect when you join
