Job Description
$23.00-$27.00/hour Mon-Thurs - 4:15p-2:45a (Must be okay to train on 1st) Onsite Oceanise Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Swiss Screw Machine Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Swiss-style CNC lathes to manufacture high-quality precision components. This position requires strong blueprint reading skills, knowledge of precision measuring instruments, and a commitment to producing parts that meet strict quality standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Set up and operate Swiss-style CNC screw machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, Tornos, or similar). Load raw materials and tooling into machines. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. Monitor machine performance and make necessary offsets and tool adjustments. Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments. Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, optical comparators, and gauges to verify part dimensions. Change tooling, replace inserts, and perform routine machine maintenance. Troubleshoot machining issues to maintain production efficiency and minimize downtime. Maintain production documentation and inspection records. Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies. Keep work area clean and organized. Qualifications 2+ years of experience operating Swiss CNC screw machines. Experience with Citizen, Star, Tsugami, Tornos, Hanwha, or similar Swiss machines preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Proficient with precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Ability to perform machine offsets and basic troubleshooting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity to operate machinery and measuring instruments. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications CNC programming or setup experience. Experience working in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
