Job Title:
Industrial Saw Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Industrial CNC Operator responsible for setting up and operating industrial saw equipment to cut and process steel and aluminum materials according to production specifications and customer requirements. The operator will work with various raw materials, including tubing, bar stock, plate, and structural metals, while utilizing measuring instruments and material handling equipment to ensure accurate and efficient production. Responsibilities Set up and operate industrial saw equipment used to cut, trim, miter, and process steel and aluminum materials. Review work orders, drawings, cut sheets, and production schedules prior to starting jobs. Select proper blades, guides, stops, and machine settings based on material specifications. Adjust feed rates, blade speeds, blade tension, and machine parameters to ensure safe operation and quality cuts. Measure materials before and after cutting using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision measuring tools. Perform accurate measurements and pass a measurement assessment. Conduct saw blade changes and machine adjustments as necessary. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating industrial saws, band saws, cold saws, chop saws, CNC cutting equipment, or fabrication equipment within a metal fabrication shop. Strong tape measure skills. Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, combination squares, and tape measures. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience with fabrication cutting and blueprints. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to read blueprints, cut sheets, or fabrication drawings. Experience operating a forklift or overhead crane. Comfortable with daily use of calipers and tape measures. Work Environment You will be working in a fabrication or structural steel environment, operating various saws like band saws, cold saws, chop saws, and CNC saws. The role requires precision and attention to detail, with the use of measuring tools like calipers and tape measures. You will be handling materials such as steel and aluminum, and expected to perform machine adjustments when necessary. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
