Job Description
Walker Midwest , located in Itasca, IL , is seeking full-time, experienced Non-Progressive Stamping Operators to join either 1st or 2nd shift teams. Work Schedule 1st shift: Monday-Friday, 5:30 AM-2:00 PM 2nd shift: Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM-11:00 PM Occasional weekend work may be required. Duties Set up, operate, and monitor progressive stamping presses to produce metal parts according to technical specifications and production schedules Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate tooling and die setup Perform routine inspections of stamped parts using precision measurement instruments to verify quality and adherence to specifications Maintain safety standards by following proper lockout/tagout procedures, safety protocols, and machine operation guidelines Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize production flow Assist with tooling adjustments, die changes, and machine maintenance to ensure continuous operation Document production data, quality checks, and equipment issues accurately for reporting purposes Requirements Proven experience operating stamping presses or similar forming machines in a manufacturing environment Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints (GD&T) Familiarity with CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, and electrical discharge machining is a plus Skilled in the use of measuring instruments for quality control and precision measurement in machining processes Ability to operate hand tools, tooling equipment, and sheet metal fabrication tools safely and effectively Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and commitment to maintaining a safe workspace Basic shop math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions during setup and inspection Mechanical aptitude with experience in welding, forming machines, press operation, and assembly processes is desirable Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is advantageous but not required Join us if you're passionate about manufacturing excellence!
