About HARD Manufacturing Company HARD Manufacturing Company, located in Buffalo, New York, is a leading manufacturer of premium hospital cribs and youth beds used by healthcare facilities throughout the United States and around the world. For decades, we've built our reputation on quality, innovation, and craftsmanship. Every product is manufactured in our Buffalo facility by our skilled UAW workforce. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Setup/Operator to join our manufacturing team. CNC Machine Setup/OperatorPosition Summary The CNC Machine Setup/Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of CNC manufacturing equipment, including tube lasers, sheet metal lasers, and CNC press equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple machines while producing high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications. Successful candidates are self-motivated, safety-conscious, and committed to producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC tube lasers, sheet metal lasers, and other CNC equipment. Plan and prioritize machine setups to maximize production efficiency. Monitor and operate multiple machines simultaneously. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Verify dimensions and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications. Adjust machine controls, speeds, and feeds to optimize production. Edit CNC programs as needed in collaboration with Engineering. Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication. Identify machine issues or part defects and make necessary adjustments. Accurately record production data using the company's labor reporting system. Safely operate a forklift to transport materials between work areas. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate production activities. Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum of four years of experience setting up and operating CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment. Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment. Preferred Experience with CNC tube lasers, sheet metal lasers, and CNC press equipment. Experience editing CNC programs. Forklift experience or willingness to become certified.
