This role involves operating turret punch presses and related machinery to produce precise metal components according to technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in machine operation, and a commitment to safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient production processes while maintaining high-quality standards in metal fabrication. Responsibilities Set up and operate turret punch presses and associated fabrication equipment, including CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and forming machines. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to accurately produce components. Program CNC machinery for precise cutting, punching, forming, and machining operations. Conduct routine inspections of tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Measure finished parts using precision measurement instruments to verify adherence to quality specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly and coordinate with maintenance teams when necessary. Perform quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Assist in setup, tooling adjustments, and calibration of equipment for various production runs. Follow safety standards in production environments, including proper use of hand tools and personal protective equipment. Skills Proficiency in operating manufacturing machinery such as CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC mills, lathes, stamping presses, and forming machines. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. Experience with CNC programming and machine setup for precision manufacturing tasks. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles for quality control. Knowledge of safety standards applicable in metal fabrication and machining environments. Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools. Basic math skills including shop math necessary for measurements and calculations. Understanding of welding techniques and sheet metal fabrication processes is advantageous. Skilled in the use of hand tools and fabrication equipment for assembly tasks. Ability to perform machine operation efficiently while maintaining high safety standards. Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with shop math proficiency for accurate part production. Strong attention to detail for quality inspection and measurement verification.
