$27-$34 per hour, based on experience Help Bring the Kalahari Experience to Life Kalahari Manufacturing, the theming division of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, is seeking an experienced Temporary Sculptor for an immediate project-based opportunity at the Kalahari Theme Shop in Wisconsin Dells. Our artists create the immersive environments, characters, props, and themed elements found throughout Kalahari's resorts and attractions. The Theme Shop is a 20,000-square-foot creative production facility featuring foam cutting and carving equipment, 3-D modeling workstations, full carpentry, metal and paint shops, welding machinery, vinyl fabrication equipment, and a UL-certified sign shop. The Sculptor will create realistic and stylized three-dimensional pieces from concepts, drawings, plans, and reference materials. The ideal candidate has proven sculpting experience, works confidently in multiple mediums, and can collaborate with other artists and fabricators to complete high-quality projects on schedule. Key Responsibilities Sculpt realistic and stylized figures, characters, objects, props, and themed elements. Create both large- and small-scale sculptural work. Translate two-dimensional concepts, drawings, and reference materials into three-dimensional pieces. Work with materials such as clay, foam, silicone, rubber, epoxy, and other sculpting or casting mediums. Carve, shape, model, texture, and refine sculptural surfaces. Prepare sculptures for molding, casting, painting, or installation. Add finishing details such as fur, feathers, paint, textures, and other decorative elements when required. Read plans, drawings, blueprints, and sketches to understand project requirements. Take measurements and calculate the size and quantity of materials needed. Assist with material, cost, and quantity estimates. Select appropriate materials and techniques for each project. Collaborate with painters, fabricators, carpenters, designers, and other Theme Shop artists. Maintain quality standards while completing work according to production schedules. Follow all safety and health requirements during shop operations. What We're Looking For Proven professional experience as a sculptor, dimensional artist, prop artist, or similar creative professional. A portfolio demonstrating relevant sculptural work is strongly preferred. Experience creating both realistic and stylized pieces. Ability to work from concepts, drawings, measurements, and specifications. Experience with foam carving and a variety of sculpting, molding, or casting materials. Finishing experience—including paint, texture, fur, feathers, or similar detailing—is preferred. Strong artistic judgment, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Ability to perform physical work, including standing for extended periods, lifting materials, and working with hand or power tools. Ability to collaborate effectively and complete projects on schedule. This is a temporary, project-based position beginning immediately and expected to conclude in mid-to-late November 2026. Continued employment beyond the project period is not guaranteed.
Pay range:
