Role Description The Sales Agronomist position is a full-time, on-site role based in Solon, IA, responsible for supporting growers with agronomic expertise while driving sales of crop inputs and services. Day-to-day activities include visiting fields, evaluating crop and soil conditions, and providing recommendations on seed, fertilizer, and other agronomic practices. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with growers, conducting on-farm trials and research, and presenting findings in a clear, practical manner. The Sales Agronomist will prepare agronomic plans, assist with soil and tissue sampling, coordinate with internal teams for product availability, and follow up on orders and service needs. This position also requires maintaining accurate records, staying current with agronomy trends and regulations, and participating in meetings, training sessions, and local outreach activities. Qualifications Strong foundation in core agronomic disciplines, including Agriculture and Soil Science. Applied knowledge of Plant Nutrition and crop fertility planning. Experience with Irrigation practices and water management in crop production. Ability to conduct field-based Research and interpret agronomic data for practical recommendations. Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with growers. Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing regular field visits. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to customer fields and facilities. Basic proficiency with computers and agricultural software tools for recordkeeping and planning. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and ethical business practices.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
