Location:
Ephrata, Washington What do we need: We are looking for an R & D Agriculture Technician to support both our growing season and off-season research support that delivers innovation at our farm sites. You will partner with our Ag Research Scientists who will provide direction on a variety of tasks in support of design, post-harvest support, testing and evaluation of botanicals, and data analysis and reporting. Guided by our vision to be a global leader in plant-responsible innovation, we discover, grow, study, and improve the botanicals at the heart of Amway's products. We bring together phytochemistry, botanical discovery, and regenerative organic agriculture with advanced analytical technology to understand the benefits of plant materials and develop the next generation of botanical ingredients. Working under the R&D organization, the team partners cross-functionally with Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sourcing to bring promising botanicals to the world. What's special about this role: As part of the Plant and Agriculture Technology team within R&D, your work will provide input for both the discovery of new botanicals for use in product development and the advancement of Amway's regenerative organic farming practices. This is a "hands on" role that will have you working both in the field, and in the lab environment. During the growing season this role will have you involved in overseeing field trials, and in the off season you will partner with R & D on sample support for botanical integrity, documentation work, and data analysis. This is a busy, active role that provides valuable support for the scientific research that sets Amway apart in the marketplace. Your work directly impacts the differentiation, quality, and integrity of our amazing products we sell globally.
Required qualifications:
AS degree in sciences field OR high school degree and 2 years of related experience Demonstrated mechanical and instrumentation aptitude (lab tools, techniques and testing equipment) Experience with guidance of temporary field labor, plot maintenance, and field trials Agricultural experience and knowledge that relates to crop planting, growth, harvest and post season support. Skills to be successful in the role: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Exposures to botanical integrity and documentation Field experience with pre-season prep, inventory, and instrumentation support Experience with seed, cleaning, post-harvest processing and data compilation Amway does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
