Job Description

About the Role As a Metal Stamping Technician, you will play a vital role in our production floor by preparing and operating heavy-duty punch press machinery. You will ensure high-quality output by performing precise tool setups, troubleshooting die protection systems, and verifying first-piece accuracy to meet demanding production schedules. Responsibilities Execute complex setups of progressive tooling and fixtures into punch presses to ensure optimal production flow. Verify material specifications, including thickness and gauge, to maintain strict adherence to engineering prints. Perform first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and various gauges to guarantee quality standards. Monitor and adjust hydraulic and mechanical safety controls to maintain a secure and efficient operating environment. Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime. Collaborate with production operators by providing technical guidance and assistance during challenging runs or complex re-sets. Maintain accurate production documentation and ensure all finished goods are labeled and packaged according to specifications. Required Skills Proven experience in punch press setup and operation within a manufacturing environment. Strong ability to interpret and work from technical blueprints and engineering drawings. Proficiency in using precision measurement instruments and basic shop math. Current forklift certification and experience operating overhead cranes or hoists. Solid understanding of OSHA safety standards, including Lock-out/Tag-out procedures. Preferred Skills Experience working with various raw materials such as stainless and cold-rolled steel. Demonstrated ability to train others on machine operation and setup techniques. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous process improvement.
