reviews $25.64 - $30.88 an hour - Full-time CNC Lathe Operator Second Shift We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The hours for this position are 2:30PM to 11:00PM, Monday through Friday. We have a small lathe department of 3 machines. 2-2 axis lathes and 1-2 spindle lathe with y axis and milling capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for running and maintaining CNC lathes to produce precision components efficiently and accurately. Your expertise in CNC turning, tooling, and measurement will ensure that production meets the highest quality standards. CNC MFG is an AS9100 aerospace supplier. Duties Run and inspect parts using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate machining processes aligned with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Change cutting tools and make tool offset changes to ensure dimensional and finish specifications are adhered to. Work in compliance with the AS9100 standard of manufacturing. Use lean manufacturing principles to optimize machining workflows, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. Ensure all machining operations adhere to safety protocols while maintaining high standards of quality control through precise measurement and inspection techniques. Use Pro Shop ERP system to track workflows and parts manufacture. Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience running CNC lathes. Must be able to pass written and hands on proficiency tests onsite. Strong understanding of tooling and cutting methods for a range of materials including aluminum, stainless steels, and alloys. Knowledge of GD&T principles for interpreting blueprints and schematics accurately. Mechanical knowledge of tooling setups, machining processes, and machine maintenance. Familiarity with bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators and other precision measuring instruments. Ability to read schematics, and technical drawings confidently. Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to streamline production workflows. Excellent math skills related to geometry, measurements, and machining calculations.
