CNC Swiss Machinist (Level 2) MedFab Precision Solutions Full-Time |
First Shift or Second Shift Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM Build Your Career in Precision Manufacturing MedFab Precision Solutions is seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Machinist (Level 2) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a machinist who has mastered machine operation and is developing advanced setup, troubleshooting, and process improvement skills. As a Level 2 CNC Swiss Machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality precision components while supporting MedFab's commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Position Summary The Level 2 CNC Swiss Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC Swiss turning machines while ensuring production goals, quality requirements, and customer specifications are consistently achieved. This position works independently on routine setups while supporting senior machinists and manufacturing leadership on more complex jobs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Machine Operation & Setup Set up and operate CNC Swiss turning machines. Load programs, tooling, bar stock, and materials. Perform tooling changes and offset adjustments. Verify setup requirements using process documentation. Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments. Quality Assurance Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
Utilize precision measuring equipment including:
Micrometers Calipers Pin Gages Optical Comparators Indicator Systems Interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements. Ensure compliance with customer and quality specifications. Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement Identify and resolve routine machining issues. Support setup reduction and cycle time improvement initiatives. Recommend tooling and process improvements. Assist Senior Machinists with process optimization activities. Participate in Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives. Documentation & Compliance Complete production and inspection records accurately. Follow work instructions and quality procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Adhere to all company safety requirements. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or
GED. 2-5
years CNC machining experience. Minimum 2 years of Swiss machining experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Understanding of GD&T principles. Experience using precision inspection equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Citizen and Tsugami Swiss machines. Medical device manufacturing experience. Lean Manufacturing experience. Success Factors A successful Level 2 Swiss Machinist will: Consistently meet quality standards.
