Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist - III, where your expertise will drive precision and excellence in custom machining. In this role, you will operate, program, and troubleshoot advanced CNC machines to produce high-quality components. Your mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and proficiency with CNC programming will be essential in maintaining our commitment to manufacturing excellence. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills directly impact product quality and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to specifications. Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code and M-code for various machining operations, including CNC programming and CAM programming. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce precise components. Perform quality inspections using measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions against specifications. Conduct troubleshooting on CNC equipment, including Fanuc controls, electrical discharge machining (EDM), grinders, and other tooling to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to welding, grinding, power tools, hand tools, and forklift operation. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing machining processes and reducing waste through continuous improvement practices. Experience Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of CNC G-code programming, including M-code commands for machine control. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, and welding techniques is a plus. Ability to interpret complex mechanical blueprints and mechanical blueprint interpretation skills. Experience with SolidWorks or CAD software for part design review is desirable. Mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills for precise measurement and calculations. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for quality control inspection.
