At ELSNER Engineering Works, we're looking for a skilled Second Shift CNC Machinist who takes pride in turning a drawing into a precision part. If you enjoy varied work, solving machining challenges, and making something you can stand behind, we'd like to talk. This hands-on role includes setting up and operating CNC equipment, inspecting your work, and keeping jobs moving safely and efficiently. Conversational programming experience is required , along with a solid understanding of machining practices and the ability to work independently. What You'll Do Set up and operate CNC machines to produce quality parts to print. Use conversational programming at the machine control to create, adjust, and troubleshoot machining programs. Read and interpret drawings, tolerances, and job specifications. Select tooling, workholding, speeds, and feeds appropriate for the material and operation. Perform tool changes, make offsets, and adjust setups to maintain accuracy. Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools. Troubleshoot machining issues and identify ways to improve quality and efficiency. Communicate job status and setup details to support smooth shift transitions. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. What You Bring Previous experience setting up and operating CNC equipment in a machine shop. Hands-on conversational programming experience—not just loading and running existing programs. Strong blueprint-reading and precision measurement skills. Working knowledge of cutting tools, materials, workholding, and machining processes. The ability to manage your work independently while knowing when to ask questions. Dependability, attention to detail, and pride in doing the job right. Availability to work second shift. Experience across multiple machines or with both milling and turning is a plus. Why ELSNER?
