Ability to read and write Experienced with using a caliper and micrometer; or ability to learn Responsibilities /
Essential Functions:
Set up and operate a variety of machines. Mix color concentrate to compound, using scale and ratio specifications. Set up lasermike for specific information pertaining to Traveler folder. Check bare cable for nonconformance. Ensure concentricity is within accepted limits. Make sure coating is smooth. Complete the required Quality Control and Traveler paperwork correctly; maintain records. Perform machine maintenance as determined by preventive maintenance schedule. Keep department clean and orderly. The manufacture of extruded cable requires the following physical abilities: Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s). Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands. Standing for extended periods of time. Lifting, carrying objects weighing 75 lbs. or less. Pushing, pulling objects weighing 30 lbs. or less. Knowledge that Continental Cable is an ISO/AS certified company and understands the Quality Policy. Maintain a safe work environment at all times and follow all Continental Cable safety policies including safety glasses, work shoes, and all required personal protection equipment. Perform all other duties as assigned.
