This hands-on position combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction in this three-year, in-house certificate program providing a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in precision manufacturing. This role requires the ability to rotate weekly among daylight, afternoon, and midnight shifts, with a 10% shift premium for non-daylight shifts.
What You'll Do:
Work on the plating shop floor in order to learn required job tasks Regularly attend apprenticeship classes held on site Manage the activities of the plating parts, including setup and maintenance of the lines, plating and inspection of the parts, and the preparation of parts for shipping. Strive to keep setup and maintenance time to a minimum Maintain job tracking system Ensure that chemical inventories are adequately maintained at all times and that orders are properly filed Follow all safety and quality plans Study the production schedule and estimate the requirements for completing an order efficiently and effectively Rotate, on a weekly basis, from daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts
Qualifications What We're Looking For:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent Technical, mechanical and math ability Attention to detail and ability to prioritize Able to work as part of a team Able to work daylight, afternoon, and midnight rotating shifts Able to lift 40 lbs., and stand/walk for 8 hours.
