CNC Waterjet Operator & Programmer We are a small up and coming shop that's looking to add to our team, we've been adding equipment but now we'd like to find a great addition to our workforce. About us, our owner has 20 years in the waterjet industry and the company is 8 years old. We like to have a positive and productive environment and there are many extra rewards for our employees such as company provided lunch a couple times a month. We do also have high expectations and our employees need to be flexible to wearing more than one hat and helping in any areas necessary. We have (3) CNC waterjet machines, (1) CNC router, sandblasting equipment, drill press, bandsaw, radial tapping machine, and other items for complete orders. Our priorities are efficiency, safety, and quality. The ideal candidate would have a background working with waterjet, specifically Jet Edge waterjets and/or MultiCam routers. A working knowledge of how the equipment operates and how the intensifier pump's function is also very critical. We need someone who can diagnose issues with the equipment and repair it properly in a timely fashion. Programming for the machines would be a valuable skill as well, experience with AutoCad Fusion360 is a big plus. Here are the general qualifications and duties.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect the waterjet and associated equipment prior to use and during operation to identify issues, take corrective action to fix any problems.
- Operate the forklift safely to load/unload the machines as well as trucks and delivery vehicles.
- Identify customer requirements be reading all necessary information relating to the job, including the job traveler and all supplied drawings/samples/templates.
- Setup any fixtures or tooling required to run jobs.
- Complete first part check on every job using precision measuring equipment and recording your information.
- Detab and deburr completed parts, clean, label and package for shipment.
- Understanding and knowledge of different materials, able to identify aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, plastics, and composites.
- Must be able to lift 75lbs.
- Maintain clean equipment and keep up good housekeeping in the warehouse.
- Interact with customers.
- Keep racks and shelving organized.
- Program and maintain current file revisions of all manufactured parts utilizing CAD/CAM software.
- Reverse engineer parts for manufacturing.
- Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine the most cost-effective manufacturing process while evaluating risk.
- Creative thinking to improve efficiency of processes.
- The operator is responsible for daily housekeeping and maintaining a clean, productive, and safe environment.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years' experience programming and operating waterjet machines, Jet Edge and Flow preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong math skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Able to work with limited direction.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Flexibility in scheduling, 2nd shift, or overtime may be required.
- Understand, read, write, and speak English.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
