This is a one-person camera role. You will be the only shooter on the road, so you need to be comfortable running camera and audio yourself and handling your own media at the end of every day.
WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE
The production makes five road trips out of South Florida between September and November. You travel with the group in a shared production RV, shoot on the road in both directions, shoot pre-event tailgate activities, and shoot at the event itself. Trip lengths vary a lot. The first trip is by far the longest, with up to seven days of travel in each direction. The shorter trips run about two days of travel in each direction. On-site tailgate and event days are on top of the travel days. Five people travel in the vehicle. Trips include overnight travel and long days. The content is family-friendly, and professional, easygoing conduct in close quarters is part of the job. Additional day work in South Florida may also be available around home events for the right person.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate primary camera in a documentary, observational style: handheld, run-and-gun, available light, unrepeatable moments. Record clean production audio using lavaliers, wireless systems, and boom or on-camera mics as the situation allows. Run secondary and unattended cameras as needed, including in-vehicle mounts and action cameras. Offload, back up, and verify every card at the end of every shoot day. Upload all footage from all cameras nightly to the post-production team, with consistent file naming and folder structure. Keep batteries, media, and cables charged, cleared, and ready for the next day. Coordinate with the field producer on coverage and story beats.
REQUIRED
Demonstrated experience shooting documentary, reality, or unscripted content on the road or on location. Please be ready to share a reel. Fluent on Sony FX3 and/or FX6, including exposure, log workflow, and monitoring. Solid production audio skills with wireless lavalier systems.
Your own camera package:
FX3 and/or FX6 body, lenses, support, audio kit, media, and batteries. The day rate is inclusive of equipment. Strong technical and file-management skills. You will be moving large volumes of media over hotel, campground, and mobile connections, so you need to be comfortable troubleshooting transfers and backups on your own. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Able to lift and carry gear for extended periods and work long days on your feet. Available for all five trips between September and November 2026. Legally authorized to work in the United States.
PREFERRED
Drone experience. Drone work is a plus, not a requirement. Anyone flying for this production must hold a current FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate. Based in South Florida. All trips depart from and return to the Fort Lauderdale area. Sports, live event, or tailgate shooting experience. Experience working around families and children on camera. Basic location lighting for interviews. Comfort cutting quick social clips in the field.
TRAVEL AND BACKGROUND CHECK
Travel includes overnight stays with a family group that includes minors. Any offer of engagement is contingent on satisfactory completion of a background check and a motor vehicle record check. Travel, lodging, and meals on the road are covered by the production. PAY $350 to $500 per day depending on experience and the gear package you bring. The rate is inclusive of your equipment. Paid per trip.
