Summary
Operates and maintains stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and follows established manufacturing procedures. Uses hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units.
Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards. Under close supervision, assembles small parts, capacitors, switches, and related components into cabinets; fabricates various sub-assemblies;
and does other work as required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Works primarily with other assemblers and is responsible for consistently meeting quality and production standards.
Assembles capacitor racks.
Installs oil switches, copper fuse holders, insulation, mountings, porcelain, links, and louver cover.
Drills and installs plastic fittings.
Build transformer brackets.
Verifies correct clearances and hole diameters given blueprints.
Operates impact wrenches, ratchets, and small hand tools.
Makes up small hardware parts.
Cleans and maintains the work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
1 year of related experience.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as necessary to complete logs or records.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations.
Detail-oriented and consistent.
Works well as a productive member of a team.
Ability to operate a pallet jack and/or forklift as needed.
Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.
Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
Physical Requirements:
Able to walk, stand, use hands, handle, or feel and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Able to lift up to 25+ pounds at a time.
Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
Must wear gloves and ear protection.
Adaptable and able to maintain performance in loud areas where machines frequently operate.
