About the Role Takt Engineering is hiring a Production Control Specialist for a client in advanced manufacturing. You release jobs to the floor, clear what is holding them up, and stay on a problem until it closes. This is emergent work. The jobs are unplanned or first run, and the paperwork often does not match what the floor is actually doing. Procedures are still being written. Part of the role is proving out the process and writing down what the documentation missed. Job Responsibilities Work to the priorities set by production scheduling, and tell them early when the floor cannot hold the sequence. Release work orders to the floor within authorized limits, confirming material, tooling, certified labor, released router revision, and quality hold points. Find and clear shortages, roadblocks, and resource conflicts before they stop the build. Track work in process status and location. Chase nonconformances to the disposition decision point and escalate for signature. Support process proving and capture what the documented process does not reflect. Walk the floor. Verify status against what is physically there before reporting it. Get changes back to manufacturing engineering and quality so the router and work instructions catch up to reality. Keep ERP transactions current so work in process and material data stay accurate. Record open items and status in the shift handoff. Meet the documentation and material handling requirements that come with a regulated production environment. Required Qualifications Six or more years in production control, expediting, planning, or manufacturing operations. Familiar with machining, welding, or inspection processes from a planning perspective. Low volume, high mix, or engineered-to-order environment. Comfortable in a developing process environment where procedures are still changing. ERP experience covering work orders, material transactions, and inventory. Oracle preferred. Able to read and work from routings, bills of material, work instructions, and drawings. Working Excel for tracking and status reporting. Must be available for all shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications Shipyard, heavy fabrication, or large complex assembly experience. Nonconformance and material review board process experience. MES or WMS experience. Teamcenter or another PLM system. Experience with new product introduction, first article builds, or standing up a new production line. Bachelor's degree in a related field.
