Job Description
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and PC navigation
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to stand for approximately 95% of the shift
- Ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds
- Ability to work weekends, overtime, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
- Understanding of production concepts
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and operate different types of production equipment
Production Machine Operator Overview:
- Trained to set up and operate various printing, inserting, labeling, and sorting machines
- Adjust machines to ensure accuracy and respond appropriately to equipment error messages
- Perform quality checks and confirm quantities produced
- Verify batches against order tickets and properly set up equipment
- Work in a high-volume production environment while maintaining productivity, quality, safety, and security standards
Job Duties:
- Operate machines that print, insert, label, and sort materials such as statements, health insurance cards, and loyalty cards
- Manually insert documents and forms into envelopes
- Affix tags to plastic carriers and stuff mail into expedited mailing packages
- Operate presorting machines to sort and separate damaged mail
- Request reprints when damaged or incorrect mail is identified
- Place sorted mail into bins for delivery to the post office
- Perform quality checks and verify production quantities against order tickets
- Adjust machines and troubleshoot basic equipment error messages
- Work collaboratively with associates to support productivity, safety, security, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in cross-training and learn to operate different machines and equipment
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment while meeting production requirements
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to stand for approximately 95% of the shift
- Ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds
- Ability to work weekends, overtime, and holidays
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
