Job Description

Overview:
An established ready mix concrete producer with annual production exceeding 3 million cubic yards is seeking a Quality Control Manager / Director. This position will lead quality control personnel and oversee concrete testing, mix performance, and quality standards across an assigned territory of plants and jobsites.
Responsibilities include:
Lead, train, and develop QC staff, including field and laboratory technicians. Manage concrete testing throughout the assigned territory, coordinating testing schedules, staffing, and plant and jobsite coverage. Oversee mix design development, trial batches, material evaluations, and mix submittals. Review concrete test results, monitor performance trends, and implement corrective actions to maintain consistent quality. Ensure testing and production practices meet project specifications and applicable ASTM, ACI, and TxDOT requirements. Work closely with operations, sales, customers, engineers, and third-party testing laboratories to resolve concrete quality concerns. Maintain accurate testing records, quality reports, equipment calibrations, and technician certifications. Improve quality control procedures and optimize mix costs while maintaining concrete performance and customer satisfaction. Ideal candidates will bring extensive ready mix concrete quality control experience, including leadership across multiple plants or locations. Strong knowledge of concrete testing, mix designs, raw materials, and troubleshooting is essential. Relevant ACI or NRMCA certifications are preferred. Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills are required, along with the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
