AM Schedule:
5 Days/Week | 8 Hours/Day | 40
Hours/Week Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Quality Control Technician ensures the highest standards of instrument cleanliness, assembly accuracy, and quality assurance within sterile processing operations. This role combines hands-on technical sterile processing responsibilities with detailed inspection, documentation, and quality oversight critical to patient safety and operational excellence. The position emphasizes quality assurance beyond standard SPD technician duties, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow all
ANSI/AAMI
standards, manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs), SOPs, and company Work Instructions Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment using proper PPE and protocols Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble complex surgical instruments Accurately assemble and package instrument trays and sets per established guidelines Operate washers, sterilizers, and related processing equipment safely and effectively Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage prior to packaging Document missing, damaged, or non-conforming instruments per SOPs Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and inventory Handle all instruments and customer-owned items with care to prevent damage Perform daily computer tasks and documentation related to tracking and processing Monitor and maintain instrument and supply inventory levels Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of sterilization equipment Maintain clean, organized workstations and decontamination areas Adhere to infection control practices and company quality standards Communicate effectively with team members, operations staff, and distribution teams Provide feedback and recommend workflow or quality improvements Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and competencies Perform other duties as assigned

Fast-paced, climate-controlled indoor environment Frequent exposure to biohazardous materials and strong odors Moderate noise levels Regular use of PPE Standing for extended periods

Minimum 2 years of hands-on sterile processing experience Demonstrated proficiency in decontamination, assembly, and sterilization Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterile processing protocols Familiarity with
ANSI/AAMI
standards and IFUs Experience operating washer disinfectors, autoclaves, and related equipment Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic tracking systems Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Professionalism, reliability, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement Willingness to complete required vaccinations and health screenings
Preferred Experience:
Previous quality control experience within sterile processing
