ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Lab Technician performs incoming raw material and in-process testing for Malarkey Roofing Products' manufacturing operations under supervision, ensuring materials meet quality standards. This position also conducts quality audits to assist in plant trials.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

Audits manufacturing processes.

Performs chemical and physical property tests under supervision, including: Asphalt

  • Softening point, penetration, flash point, viscosity, basic DSR, filler %.
    Product
  • back coating, granular adhesion, tears, seal thickness, shingle color, shingle dissection, copper content.
    Granule/Sand
  • Gradation analysis, copper content.
    Fiberglass
  • LOI, weight, tensile, water/binder chemical analysis Inspects finished products and partners with manufacturing to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards.

Performs data entry on multiple platforms (SQC, Access, Excel).

Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education:

AS/BS Degree

Field of Study Preferred:

scientific or technical field, or a high school diploma/GED with previous technical or manufacturing experience

Required Work Experience:

At least 1 year of experience working in a laboratory setting

Additional Requirements:

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
