Job DescriptionOverviewProduction Welder with experience or training capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. A welder is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary.
ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprint and work instructions to determine specific welding requirementsConnect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, per blueprintMake adjustment to produce to quality parts to specific dimensionsExamines weld for bead size and other specificationsRepairs broken or cracked parts and fills holesPosition and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixturesTack assemblies togetherChips off excess weld, slag, and spatterClean or de-greases partsPerform all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in weldingBe able to move parts in and move finished product out of welding areaBolt, clamp, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for weldingQualifications At least eighteen (18) years of age and eligible to work in the United StatesAble to pass a post offer drug test, background check, and fitness reviewDemonstrate high attention to detail and self-motivation skillsWilling to train, work, and rotate through all department workstations and work in other departments as neededCapable of working in seasonal high temperatures and humidity (conditioned air environment)Experience is a plus but not requiredWorking ConditionsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold), and the employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
