Welder/Fabricator

Welder/Fabricator W. L. French Excavating (WLF), one of the region's leading construction and transportation companies and a Boston Globe Top Place to Work, is looking for an experienced welder/fabricator. Who You Are:
Prioritizes safety first and works efficiently. Self-motivated to get the job done. Skilled professional that takes pride in their work. Team player, can assist others when required. Maintains a clean, safe work zone and equipment at all times. 7+ years of experience in welding and metal fabrication, including but not limited to the following: GMAW; FCAW; SMAW; TIG; Carbon arc gouging; Flame cutting; Plasma cutting, Thermal lance. Experienced with repair work on heavy equipment of all types including but not limited to all types of construction equipment, heavy and light trucks, trailers, and snow equipment. Must have tools own tools specific to trade of welding and fabrication and mechanical work. Can follow written or verbal direction or change direction depending on our schedule of work. Able to work from drawings, sketches, prints, verbal or written direction and take a project from start to finish with minimal assistance. Accurately communicate progress of assignments and daily input of progress into a work order system. Knowledgeable and aware of limitations when using all equipment and tools. Safe and proper use of shears, brakes, ironworkers, bandsaws, grinders, and any fabrication related equipment and hand tools. Able to always maintain a safe and clean work zone. Holds or can acquire MA hoisting Licenses related to the work being performed, NFPA Hot Work certificate. Pre-employment drug screen and OSHA 10 certification are required.
