This role involves performing precise welding and fabrication tasks to produce high-quality metal components and structures. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience interpreting technical drawings, and proficiency with various welding techniques. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex projects on construction sites and fabrication shops, ensuring safety, accuracy, and craftsmanship in every task. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication of metal components. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Strong experience welding different materials such as aluminum, carbon, and alloy stainless steels, and nickel alloys, among others Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to verify dimensions during fabrication. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, and hand tools. Fabricate structural components on construction sites or within shop environments, adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Operate machinery such as machining tools for precise fabrication tasks and ensure proper maintenance of equipment. Measure materials accurately using shop math skills and mechanical measurement instruments to meet project specifications. Follow safety procedures rigorously while working on construction sites or in fabrication shops. Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings accurately and complete projects efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience in metal fabrication, welding, or related construction site roles. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG and TIG. Strong understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment Knowledge of safety protocols relevant to welding, fabrication shops, and construction environments. Ability to operate power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and hand tools safely and effectively. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes and metal materials. Experience working with construction site teams or in fabrication shop settings is highly desirable. Basic math skills for measurements, shop calculations, and project planning.
