About Us Murphy Structural Engineers is a respected, locally owned structural engineering firm based in San Luis Obispo, California. We provide high-quality engineering solutions for residential, commercial, and public projects across the Central Coast. Job Summary We're looking for a highly organized, self-motivated Office Manager to support the daily operations of our small but busy firm. This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys task-based, independent work and has a strong attention to detail. You'll play a key role in keeping our office running smoothly—handling administrative tasks, light bookkeeping, team support, and assisting with HR, compliance, and marketing coordination. Responsibilities Administrative and Office Support Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems Track office supplies, passwords, keys, and other essentials Manage the vacation calendar and send meeting invites Review timesheets and expenses Light Bookkeeping and Reporting Support invoicing, accounts receivable, and basic reporting Use QuickBooks or similar accounting software Executive Assistance Assist principal engineers with scheduling, email, and task coordination Support the preparation of proposals and RFP/RFQ submissions Compliance and Coordination Manage insurance documentation and employee handbook updates Maintain employee records, including time-off tracking, benefits information, and personnel documentation Maintain accurate project and client records Coordinate meetings, team events, and travel logistics Handle confidential information with professionalism Marketing and Communications Update resumes and marketing materials Support website updates and maintain social media presence Why Join Us? Preferred:
