Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in early childhood education by supporting students and teachers in a collaborative classroom environment. Two contract paraprofessional opportunities are available for the upcoming academic year, each playing a vital role in the growth and success of Pre-K students. Both roles are full-time for the 2026-2027 school year, offering the chance to impact young learners in inclusive and specialized settings. Position Details Assignment 1: Work alongside another paraprofessional and lead teacher in a general education Pre-K classroom of approximately 17 students Provide additional assistance for students with IEPs and special needs Foster an engaging, inclusive atmosphere where all children are encouraged to reach their potential Assignment 2: Support a self-contained Special Education Pre-K class with 4-7 students per session, aged 3-5 Work with non-verbal students, some not yet toilet-trained, and students needing assistance with behavior and routines Sessions run 7:30-10:30 and 10:30-1:30; some students may attend both sessions for extended support Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required GaPSC Paraprofessional Certification preferred; open to interviewing those in progress (must be obtained prior to starting) Prior classroom, early childhood, or special education experience highly valued Ability to provide onsite district fingerprinting as part of onboarding process Compassion, patience, and a desire to make a positive difference in a school community Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in delivering instruction and managing classroom routines Support students' social-emotional and behavioral development Provide one-on-one and small group support as needed Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment Experience a rewarding, structured day while helping children build critical early skills.
