Pharmacy Technician

Now hiring a friendly, dependable and motivated pharmacy technician (or individual seeking to become a pharmacy Technician) at the Pharmacy Shop who is seeking a long term position (12 months+). A full time position is available and possibly another part time position. Must have excellent basic computer, math skills and problem solving skills. Pharmacy Shop is willing to train a motivated individual. Certification is not required at the time of hire but individuals must be willing to apply for a pharmacy technician registration with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy to fulfill Idaho law requirements. Idaho registration also requires a background check. Responsibilities Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening Greet customers and answer questions Receive prescriptions and check their validity Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims) Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory Undertake administrative tasks (e.g.record-keeping) as assigned Comply with all security measures and quality standards Skills Proven experience as a pharmacy technician is welcome but we will train you if needed and assist you in entering into a life long career Computer entry skills and a desire to learn Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology Excellent communication and customer service skills Outstanding organizational skills Reliable with a keen eye for detail Completion of a pharmacy technician program ( not required ) Certified Pharmacy technician ( not required )
