Category Radiation Therapy - Radiation Therapist Job Type Contract Advance your career as a skilled radiation therapist, providing essential care to patients undergoing radiation treatment. This contract opportunity invites motivated professionals to deliver accurate and compassionate therapy in a clinical setting, collaborating closely with oncology and support staff to ensure patient safety and treatment efficacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate radiation therapy equipment according to prescribed treatment plans. Accurately position patients and maintain proper documentation throughout the treatment process. Monitor patient responses, report side effects or changes, and ensure comfort during sessions. Collaborate with oncologists, physicists, and nursing personnel to optimize therapy outcomes. Maintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and privacy protocols. Perform equipment checks and report any technical issues promptly. Educate patients and families on procedures, providing ongoing support and reassurance.
Qualifications:
Valid ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy. Current state licensure as required by Virginia regulations. Proven experience as a radiation therapist in a clinical or hospital environment. Proficiency in operating linear accelerators and related radiation therapy equipment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction. High attention to detail and commitment to treatment accuracy.
