Job Description
About the Role Delta Health is seeking an experienced and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics, in both acute and emergency settings. You'll work directly with patients and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care, addressing both physical and psychosocial needs. We're looking for someone who is skilled in pulmonary function, familiar with respiratory equipment, and committed to patient education. - Deliver respiratory care according to hospital policies and procedures within your scope of practice
- Assess patient needs, plan treatment priorities, and administer therapies safely and effectively
- Document treatments, responses, and progress in a timely and accurate manner
- Identify and intervene in patient complications and report changes in condition to the healthcare team
- Ensure proper use and calibration of respiratory therapy equipment
- Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and nursing staff to ensure effective care delivery
- Provide patient and family education on respiratory health and treatment options
- Participate in the development of care standards and follow departmental protocols
- Maintain professional growth through continuous education and training opportunities Qualifications
- Colorado state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- BLS and ACLS certification through American Heart Association upon hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification upon hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 days of hire
- Minimum of one year of recent acute care, emergency care, or intensive care experience preferred
- Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
